Yearning For The Return Poem by Alexander Romanov

Yearning For The Return

Up and down, the tangled thoughts do spin,
A dark vortex, pulling me in.
Don't leave me lost in this abyss,
Come back to me, and seal this kiss.

I've washed the dishes, and sharpened blades,
The table's set, the bed unmade.
Come to me, even for a fleeting while,
I'll light a candle, and hide my guile.

The sun is high, and so am I,
It scorches all, and makes me blind.
But if you return, all will be well,
I'll show you films, that will cast a spell.

Hopeless for a miracle, that's true,
But moving on, there's things to do.
So imagine, I've found a new start,
But I'm still broken, with a shattered heart.

You replaced me easily, like a toy,
Threw me away, like a broken joy.
You smirked in that photo, a devilish gloat,
As I gazed on, my spirit afloat.

But I still cling to those magic words,
That dull the pain, and silence the hurts.
So may darkness befall you, and also me,
May we both rest, in eternal misery.
