how full they bloom!

a muddy footpath
some pebbles
the silence of this moment

footsteps moving away from the house
words dissolving from the door

the windows close
and lights are put off

tomorrow another name cancels itself
from the page of the family bible

another child's name is added
his father is unknown but the mother is brave

shameless they call her
silence is her only answer
