Yesterday It Rained Poem by Sneha Murali

Yesterday It Rained

Yesterday it rained. It poured all over her,
the thoughts that she cud rot in inhibitions
filled with the corpses of hope.
Yesterday she felt, a knife go through her thin veiled security
& rip her apart as she tried shielding herself
with a thinner layer of faith.
So thin, it was, that it cud not separate the dirt from her mind,
in all its porous structure.
Yesterday it rained. Lightening struck the same place twice,
even as she ran from the sparks of the angel's fury.
Yesterday the dirt was wet, with the drops of silver from the sky.
The sky, cried to fill the craters in herself,
the potholes caused from her breaking under tensility.
Yesterday it rained. She sat by the window trembling insomuch,
the fervent fever burning her, hot & cold, juxtapositioned.
She cried, hoping it would somehow relieve
the burden of the world on her shoulders,
but it rained all night and the tears
only refilled itself in the process.
It would never b the same for her today,
because yesterday she stopped living a life augmented by chaos,
because the azure skies were blackened with the presumptive out-pour which wouldn't cease,
because yesterday it rained....yesterday it rained...
