Yesterday To Me Poem by John Carter Brown

Yesterday To Me

YESTERDAY TO ME

My time was mine, way back when
I'd walk alone, or with my many friends
because I could, I did my thing most days
played around in one long sunny haze
and when I close my eyes I see
things that were yesterday to me.

It's true we only get one chance to live
a time to take, and then a time to give
too soon we find the days have blown away
can't even take them back a single day.

School days were just, to me a chore
my daily dust, my weekly bore
though round the corner, still unknown to me
lay life in all it's stark reality
and when I close my eyes I see
things that were yesterday to me.

It's true we only get one chance to live
a time to take, and then a time to give
too soon we find the days have blown away
can't even take them back a single day.

My time was mine, way back when
I'd walk alone, or with my many friends
because I could, I did my thing most days
played around in one long sunny haze
and when I close my eyes I see
things that were yesterday to me
things that were yesterday to me.
