Yoghurt Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Yoghurt

Yoghurt

He wore green top; under
Just two shades; not fifty
Looks healthy

White spoon
(Plastic)
And yoghurt in two packs
(Too small, spoon-size)
And some nuts; and raisin
Sure healthy in diet

Too busy to notice
He's licking pack and lid
(Of yoghurt)

Secretly I smile
Human and normal
Then he takes more spoons
Many more for saving
And tissues and napkins

My smile cracks wide to student
So has been, so remains

I frown to the waste

Adding up what I see
This young man and others
"Waste's too much"
(In the name of hygiene)

Many die of hunger; pollution
Thanks to the plastic; and machine
What a shame causes town

Modern and civilized; Shame on us
