You Poem by KayyAnn Page

You

She doesn't understand your beauty like I do. I could just sit and stare at you until I remember every last detail. Because you are art and I could paint 1,000 pictures and write 1,000 lines all about you.

She doesn't see the stories your eyes tell. I would sit and listen to every last one and if you ran out you could tell them all again and again from the beginning.

She doesn't see the chains dragging behind you. I know your body aches from the pain, I wonder if you know that some days I feel the same. But, I could be covered in bullet wounds and I would still find a way to carry you.

She thinks life has plucked away your wings. But I still see them, I know you just forgot how to fly.

She doesn't know your mind holds the toughest codes and I will take the time to crack each one.

She can't feel the warmth from your soul, and thats why I'm at ease whenever you are near...
