You Poem by Renee Tidmore

You

Rating: 5.0

From the day I learned about you
I wondered who you would be
For nine months, I waited and waited
Finally, the day arrived and you came to me.

You stole my heart the moment I saw you
Your hair so thick and black
Your eyes unfocused, yet knowing
i quickly found the love my life had lacked.

The first year I watched you grow
A year of firsts for both you and me
Together we both grew and learned
Unconditional love for all to see.

Going to school, best friends, and new loves
I watched you grow through the years
Hopes raised and hopes dashed
Together we both shed plenty of tears.

A mother's love is unsurpassed
Mistakes made were just a test
A child's love is so pure and true
Together we made the very best.
