You Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

You

Rating: 5.0

I never planned to meet you
But somehow we just did
Both of us lost and sad and blue
Hopes and feelings we hid

Somehow we both understood
And somehow found a friend
Whose heart wad gentle and good
So evident in the notes you send

You know it doesn't matter what you say
Or whether you think yourself so great
I'd stay here with you anyday
and so here I sometimes wait

For a chance to say hello
To my friend far away
You make my sad heart glow
And make me imagine a someday

No way our fate to know
Etched in my heart is a reminder
A true friend to soften my woe
I know of no one kinder

I don't know where life will lead
I hope for us whatever is best
God's will, no matter what we plead
But selfishly I dream of your caress

You somehow touch my heart
Without even trying
To think of you sad there
Makes me feel like crying

Peace and love to you
My best wishes I freely send
Support and kindness too
To help your weary heart mend
