You And I Poem by Jona PoloRamirez

You And I

We all but love once in our lives
Time passes by yet measured strength abides,
To think and ponder of our smile
And wrinkles stretching in our eye.

The side glance of our face
Revealing but a part, our heartbeat
Measures that's felt in ways
That you nor I can't seem to oddly beat.

The other half a lovely smile to keep,
A magnet we attach and wish
To dream but one love quietly in sleep
And know our heart in ours enmeshed.

With empty heart dull words yet dance
To fill an empty mind a voice within,
Still yearns that smile, and only chance
That half-smile face can I but touch within.

Yet you and I we've loved but once in life
And dare we've deeply love without a strife,
We love, we lost, we long for what was us
And yet to long is walk back into the past.
