Since the beginning of time
And the emptiness burns a hole
All the way through the soul
As I wait for you
A love that never dies
Only suffers eternally
And I burn for you
Begging for forgiveness
Salvation found only in damnation
As you stand there over me
Shield in hand, blocking my pleas
Sword posed and ready
For words that strike uncertainty
Show me mercy
My lord, can't you see?
I love thee
What shames you, shames me
And as time goes by
The past will fade away
