You Are Poem by Kenyatta Stewart

You Are

You are a mother who gave birth to my mother who gave birth to me,
who since birth was allowed to see,
that I was put on this earth with a destiny.
My destiny as told by you is to be the best I can be in all that i do.

You are the mother of my mother who watched me grow,
and taught me almost everything i needed to konw,
from riding a bike, to the Lord's Prayer, to how to fight for whats right.
YOu told me i can be anything i want to be.
you didnt tell me that I can't be with you for all eternity.

You are a mother who gave birth to my mother who comforted me.
when yo left this earth all hell broke loose and boy did it hurt
My heart dropped to my feet when i slightly saw your face.
all i wanted was you to hold me up and take me out of this place.

YOu are the mother of my mother who is gone now forever.
now i will truly be alone forever.
Only in my soul though,
only in my life though,
because in my heart i will never let you go.

This is beautiful. I know that other people will benefit from being able to read this, seeing how well you've put into words an experience that can be so painful.
