You are leading the state and
being the head;
Please say whether
you endowed with a pure intellect,
firmly restraining the senses,
casting aside attraction and aversion?
Are you dwelling in solitude?
Are you controlling your speech body and mind?
Are you resorting to dispassion?
Have you abandoned egoism, violence, arrogance,
desire, anger, covetousness?
Are you tranquil in mind?
Ponder yourself and say whether you are
the right person qualified to attain the chief post.
