Sitting alone, staring at the emptiness around.
I sometime lose my will to live.
I built my life around you.
You were the focus point of my vision.
My future was founded on dreams of you.
You were the compass for my journey ahead.
You were the fuel which kept my heart burning.
You were the love of my life.
You were the essence on which my life thrived.
Now you are not there to lead me on.
What is my will to live? ?
You are my will to live.
You are alive out there, somewhere.
We breathe the same air
The air I breathe could have brushed your face
As wind before it came to me, who knows?
You are out there breathing the same air
That’s my will to live.
You drive to work and come home.
We use the same roads.
As I drive through I feel your presence.
I feel as if I am following you unconsciously.
I see you to going before me.
I feel you around me.
You are my will to live.
As I go shopping for a moment I stand still.
And I realise you could have walked
Through the exact same aisles
I close my eyes and try to picture.
You could have touched and picked
That little item and left it back on the shelf.
I could have touched your fingerprints
Picking that same item; who knows?
If I did, I feel an inch closer to you.
And that’s my will to live.
Every where I go, everything I see
For some strange reason
Everything reminds me of you.
The places we went together
The places we sat together.
Place we held each others
Every place where your fingertips
Rested before my eyes.
I can see it now.
Every place you walked on
That I know of
I can sense you there.
Memories of you are my will to live.
My love for you is my will to live.
You are my will to live.
