You Are There Poem by Guinevere Eveleigh

You Are There

You are there
Constantly
Like the air
Surrounding me
Like a ghost
Guarding me
Like the sea
Submerging me
Holding me
Like a sun beam
Delighting me
Warming me
Your sensations thrill me
Like a fantasy
Something I can't feel or see
Only leaving me
To believe
In something
So open
So vulnerable
Like a being without skin or shields
Like the villagers amongst a siege
You are there
In my mind
In my presence
Something I can never deny
Something I can never put aside
You are there
Constantly
In my heart
And in my dreams
Making it ever impossible
To ever
Disbelieve

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
from an early age i always believed in a god and since then i have never been able to shake off the feeling that there was something out there that science could never prove. i can read all the science i want but still i can't help but think it looks like one big design made by somebody or something.i know people don't believe in god and i respect what they believe and i respect everybody else's religions too. whatever it is, i have never been able to shake off the beliefs i held in my head.
