You Can Poem by Jim Boone

You Can

Rating: 3.5

Walk on the wild side
But only walk

If you stop
You might hear some
Funky music and start to dance
And dancing can cause you
To relax and make some
Funky moves and that
Might cause you to
Lie down

If you lie down
And are not alone
That can lead beyond
The ‘birds and the bees'
And cause a ritual of flesh,
Sweat and cheers known
As a ‘fine time.'

You can mix-it-up or
Hide and watch
Be yourself or
Try to be everyone
‘They say' you should be

Watch a movie or
Make one
See a play or
Write one
Follow your natural instincts
Or some ‘leader'
Go for it
Or ‘end' it.

You may, or you may not,
But you can, if you will.
