You Didn't Know Poem by Mohammad Younus

You Didn't Know

You didn't know
what lay within my store.
For years, I wondered too,
the door kept tightly closed—
unsure if treasure or ruin
hid beyond.

But curiosity whispered,
and I could not resist.
I turned the key, peered inside,
and found—light.
Flickering, radiant, eternal,
buried beneath neglect's dust,
waiting to awaken.

Fragile yet fierce,
they glowed brighter,
illuminating the hollow,
dark depths of my mind.
Each corner bathed in brilliance,
shadows fleeing the light,
revealing truths long buried,
fears long confined.

Now I know:
I carried no emptiness,
but seeds of illumination,
their flames waiting patiently
for my touch.
