You Don't Believe Me. Poem by Scott Gervaise

You Don't Believe Me.

Rating: 5.0

You don't believe me,

you don't believe me,

you don't believe a word I say,

so I'll say nothing, nothing at all,

you don't need me,

you don't need me,

you don't need me anymore,

but I need you just like before,

you'd rather kill me,

than make me stronger,

you'd rather drag me under,

and watch me as I drown,

you said you knew me,

you held on to me,

you told me that I was the one,

you'd been waiting on,

you don't see me,

you don't see me,

you don't see me anymore,

but I'm still here.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is a work in progress. I have words all over the place for it. I will add them if ever I can just put them together in a way that gives this poem / song the emotional justice it deserves. What I have here I'm mostly happy with, but it is far from finished. The person this poem is for thinks it's about someone else. She left me over 4 years ago and I still think of her every day. Some of the words make it sound like I'm angry with her, but I'm not. I have never stopped loving her, so much so that I have remained single ever since, and I don't see that ever changing. By the way, she had every good reason to dump me. I lost my way for a while, she stood by me for longer than most people would have.

Good poem Scott the writing is on the wall and this is where the strength of man starts unrequited love throw it to the wind- when the lady of your dreams shows it will be like a magic carpet. regards
