You Don'T Know Love Poem by Jay Curster

You Don'T Know Love

Rating: 5.0

I hate those fools who write about love
As if it were real begotten from above
Love is a word that has no depth
Not like Hate, torture and death
Love is self serving you want something more
Can you love the homeless give all to the poor
Can you love for the sake of self sacrifice
Like Jesus did when he gave up his life
True love is patient love is kind
Who loves this way within their mind
Love does not envy it does not boast
It is not proud, rude or has no self-seeking hoast
Love is not easily angered and records no wrongs
That is not the love I hear when I listen to your songs
It always protects, trust, hopes and preserves
This is why you love poets get to my nerves
Love never fails and and this is why
We shall never know love till the day we die
