You Don’t Know Me. Poem by Shelby Miller

You Don’t Know Me.

you wonder why I’m like this
you wonder why I rebel
maybe you should look in a mirror
there the answer lies.
Looking at you
I try not to cry
I try not to scream
But when you pretend to know me
It hurts worse every time
You tell me you care
You say I have a choice
Yet you always put me down
Never giving me a chance
You think you know me
You don’t know me
