Darling Sister Poem by Shelby Miller

I have a sister.
Who I love more then anything.
She left me when I was younger.
I remember that night like it was yesterday
It might as well have been because the pain is all the same.
She took a part of me with her.
But I know its safe.
She’s with him and I know she’s happy.
When she left I didn’t know what to do.
I didn’t like him at first for he took her from me.
However I trusted her judgment.
I hated it when people talked down on them.
I stood up for her when she was too far away.
To do it herself. Everyone hated him.
Because she was too young.
But they didn’t know her like I do and they never will.
I knew she wouldn’t do anything stupid or hurtful.
Even though sometimes it hurt to be away from her.
I’m glad she left. Her happiness means everything to me.
I love her and nothing or no one can change that.
