You Don'T Like What That Person Is Saying Poem by Francis Duggan

You Don'T Like What That Person Is Saying

You don't like what that person is saying then you can switch off your t v
You have choices and you can make them that's how it works in a democracy
If you feel that person is talking rubbish listening to that person do not stay
Than listening to the unenlightened why waste one moment of your day.
You don't like what that person is saying tell that person of how you feel
That your ideas are very different such talk to you does not appeal
We often hear insights from others though some lack in wisdom 'twould seem
With words they will try to demean you and undermine your self esteem
You don't have to listen to crude talk from one who keeps waffling on
If what they say is to you of no value you won't remember when they have gone
Anything they said worth hanging on to with them out of sight is out of mind
'Tis true what they say of wise people that they are rare and hard to find
And you don't like what that person is saying listening to that person why stay
In small minds you will not find wisdom that's what a wise one once did say.
