You Found Me Poem by Nakita Ball

You Found Me

I was always running
In circles around myself
Never really standing out
Just another book on the shelf.

Growing up I knew
I'd never be much
Adolescence passed me by
Faster then time could fly

Before I had the chance to catch it
(I knew I had to move on)
I couldnt make myself let go
My childhood was gone

Never knowing love
Or the warmth that it brings
I'd been so close to giving up
That's when you found me.

I was lost
With darkness all around me
Your light lit up the world
And I could finally see
Something worth fighting for

When you took my hand in yours
I felt something greater
Then what I'd ever known
I saw something more
That I had been blind too before.
