You & I Poem by Taylor Stafford-Smith

You & I

If I, a drop of water,
And you, a ray of light,
We'd spend winter nights with gravity-
Until vaporizing into Summer's solstice
My shell, thickly shivering in your absence-
Relying on your warmth to restfully flow.

If you were Ocean's waves
And I, your love, was Wind
We'd aimlessly intertwine as Nature's swell
Voyaging thousands of rippled miles
Soon greeting the shore as one.

If we were love
We'd be an eight-chambered mystery
Intimately electrified with Dopamine's high
Pumping Passion's pleasure to eternity
Whispering Fiction's romantic lullaby.
