You'Ll Always Have My Heart Poem by Silence Dogood

You'Ll Always Have My Heart

Today was the best day ever
Because he finally noticed me.
He turned his head my way.
And for once he really did see.

At lunch he asked me out.
He stuttered for the words.
I love you he had said.
Best thing I ever heard.

It was on the second date.
When we had our first kiss.
Shooting stars crossed the sky.
While we made our wish.

Everything was perfect.
A fairytale come true.
A happily ever after.
With the words I love you.

But something had to happen.
Something had to go wrong.
My heart was broken.
In a week I would be gone.

My breath had gotten shorter.
I lived in a hospital bed.
Waiting for a miracle.
Or else I would be dead.

I needed a transplant soon.
Or else it'd be too late.
No one was a donor.
I guess this was my fate.

Beside me sat my love.
With tear stained eyes.
He didnt shut them once.
For fear of my goodbye.

But a time came.
When I became so weak.
I couldnt even move.
So all I did was sleep.

I never woke up.
I never saw his face again.
I never heard his voice.
I guess thats how it ends.

I lay asleep for hours.
But in the end it was weeks.
I never opened my eyes.
I couldnt even speak.

When I regained consiences.
And was told of the date and time.
I asked where he was.
But a nurse said he died.

She handed me a letter.
Across it was my name.
I opened it cautious.
For inside was only pain.

It began with Dear Juliet.
With ink slatters on the page.
I assumed it was from tears.
This filled me with rage.

When I reached the end.
I began to fall apart.
For the last line said.
'You'll always have my heart'

It was signed with his name.
He had saved me from my death.
By donating his heart.
With his final breath.
