You Must Have A Dream Poem by Francis Duggan

You Must Have A Dream

life would be quite boring that's how it does seem
If we just lived to work and we dared not to dream
To have one great dream to which we do aspire
Without something to look forward to of life we would tire
You must have a dream in your life to pursue
Though their dreams for so many do never come true
For many the roads of life are very steep
And from their hard work their just rewards they never reap
And millions of stories of heartbreak in the big World out there
Where losers are many and winners are rare
And poverty does little for self esteem
But even the poorest they do have some dream
Though out of their lives all hope seemingly gone
Their dreams of a better life keep them living on.
