You Never Know Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

You Never Know

You never know where you will meet a friend
But you know somehow when you do
It's a special feeling in your heart
That makes you feel more hopeful and less blue
What matters most is the feeling behind the thoughts and words
Friedship is not bound with teathers and chords
but with gentle care and tenderness true
The kind I feel from someone special like you
Time and distance don't mater much, there is no pressure and no rush
but you can still make me smile, feel warmer inside and even blush
I have a life and so do you, but still you stop by to smile my way
and I wish you to know, that's a nice part of my day
a reminder of a caring friend far away
Maybe someday we'll be granted a chance to meet
A real treat I'm sure, if we ever greet
But even if we never do
It gives me joy to be a friend to you
I hope I'm kind
And that I listen as much as speak
and boost your spirits if you're feeling down or weak
Some say friends are destined to come and go
and if that's true, it won't diminish you I wish you to know
I hope a piece of me stays with you wherever you go
because life is so short and human kindness so rare
We both realize, and mean only to show each other a little care
But for me, I'm blessed to know of you there...
