You One Poem by Francis Duggan

You One

On the ladder of success you may have climbed far
But this does not tell us of the person you are
It just tells us that of money you are not of in need
But nothing else off you as a person indeed
With those doing it tough are you one who does care
And some of your money with them are you willing to share
To your higher self you cannot be true
If you feel those doing it tough are not equal to you
The egotistical and narcissistic in truth one can say
Are far from being good people in any way
You may be one of the wealthy and famous people of the town
But if on those doing it tough you choose to look down
Then in your mind you are one who is quite small
And not in any way near to a good person at all.
