You're A Fighter Poem by Ray Hansell

You're A Fighter

I could see the fear
When I looked into your eyes
I could feel your tears
As you started to cry

The shock and disbelief
Was there on your face
At that painful moment
I wished I could have taken your place

I would give anything
To trade places with you
You know that's something
That I would gladly do

My love and feelings for you
Are stronger then they have ever been
That's why in my heart I know
This is a fight you'll win

How could you not win
With me on your side
I never root for losers
Or people who run and hide

Of course I like the underdog
Just like most people do
But that's not the way
I would classify you

You're right there on the top of things
Right where you need to be
I know you're ready to fight like hell
I can't wait to see

So please always remember
You'll have your own cheering section
I know the one's cheering for you
Could not have made a better selection
