You'Re Not Here Poem by Melissa Koeman

You'Re Not Here

What is it with you?
Why do I need you?
All I ever really wanted was some peace in myself
But since you came into my life
I’ve lost my head
And a war is raging in my heart
You’re not here by my side
I wish a thousand wishes
For you to be my angel
Send from heaven
To bring the peace
But you’re not here
The spitfires come crashing down
The machine guns are loaded
The firing pierces through me
Explosions fill my senses
And you’re not here
I can’t stand this emotional violence
I should leave in silence
