Silence Is Golden? Poem by Melissa Koeman

Silence Is Golden?

Rating: 5.0

Again hurt by words
Stupid words… that didn’t make sense
Maybe I should’ve thought: whatever, I don’t care
But I couldn’t because in fact it did hurt me like hell
Those words broke my heart
Why do people which I care about and love say such things?
Saying things without thinking first?
If only they knew the truth about me….
I know they would keep their mouth shut then
At least I know now how they really feel about it
But why was I again such a hypocrite for laughing along
and not saying anything?
Should I be silent?
Silence is golden… some say…
But against what price?

i've discovered that when you hurt others and vice versus with words it is your Ego's disire to prove what shouldn't/doesn't need proving. Just be yourself like in my poem 'Be Proud of who you are' Well written. 10/10 Liz.

what a wonderful poem filled with insight and deep searching of how to live in the world the question- to be true to your true self or go along with the crowd of course in the end only one choice staying true to who you really are
