You'Re There. Poem by Barbara Danielle Smith

You'Re There.

When things don't go right,
When I screw up,
When I start to fight,
You're there.

When I'm at my worst,
When I scream in your face,
When I hurt you first,
You're there.

When I'm too mad to talk,
When I hate your guts,
When I tell you to take a walk,
You're there.

When the pain won't subside,
When the silence is all I want,
When my hapiness has dried,
You're there.

When it hurts too much to cry,
When the cuts don't go deep enough,
When all I want is to die,
You're there.

You guide me through,
You show me the way.
You are one in a few,
No matter what others say.

You're there through it all,
Despite what I do.
You've never let me fall,
Every action saying 'I love you'.

My love for you may be opaque,
But it is alive and on fire.
Please believe me for my sake,
That your love is my one desire.

There's not much I can do.
There's not much I can say,
But 'I love you, too..
And please, please stay'.

For me, you're always there,
You don't walk away.
And for you, I'll always be here,
Forever here to stay.

[The inspiration for this came from The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and their song 'Your Guardian Angel'. Also, from people that have changed me and my life. I am forever in debt.]
