You Say Poem by Renee Wangwe

You Say

You say I own you.
You say I won.
You say a lot of things.
And I like it.

You kiss my forehead.
You hold me tight.
You make me happy.
And I like it.

You talk to me.
You tell me your thoughts.
You tell me your truth.
And I like it.

You are complicated.
Farthest thing from simple,
Just like my moon.
And I like it.

You are here,
With me now…
Until you have to leave
And I don't like it.

I think you won.
I knew I fell for you,
Way before you asked.
And I accepted it.

You got the whole of me,
Without really trying and
I worry if it's enough for
You to stay a while.

There's something lovely here.
I already gave you the most fragile
Thing I own. My heart, my words
And time can self testify.
