You Show Me Someone Worth Respecting

We are ruled by self centred rednecks on the face of the World a dark mole
They control most of the World's finances the people who don't have a soul
They live in their own narrow circles and though money speaks every language some say
Whilst them and their families and few select friends grow wealthier the poor grow poorer by the day.

Government spokespeople talk of the booming economy the booming economy that only benefits the wealthy few
Such talk surely for them a vote catcher though they never tell us anything new
They seldom if ever mention poverty since they already have taken note
That on Council and National Elections few of the poor ever bother to vote.

We look up to the royals and politicians though they are quite good at feathering their own nest
They are supposed to serve all of the people but they don't serve the poor and oppressed
Their mates like themselves very wealthy and for themselves they are doing quite okay
You show me people worth respecting and respect to them I will pay

You show me someone worth respecting one who stands for equality
And that person irrespective of gender won't have a greater admirer than me
The one eyed man he is the ruler but he rules in the Land Of The Blind
The naive they are the kingmakers and the naive are not hard to find.
