You Suck Poem by Jessica Lindsey

You Suck

Pause at the door,
heart racing.
I know what I will
find, but hope...
Fling it open,
two bodies close,
spread wings and
fly apart.
Hold my composure
so they won't notice
my soul crashing to the floor
moving quickly to mask my trembling
hands, I grab my heart
off the carpet,
turn towards the door to go
but move too quickly
and so they see the storm
their cause effected in me.
I cringe that they know.
I care.
They got their feathers in my hair.
