You Taught Me Love And More Poem by Tina Rizk

You Taught Me Love And More

My love,

You taught me love and more
Things I never knew before
No wonder life felt an exile
Maybe we should walk down the aisle

I thought I knew what love is
I've always read romantic books
I've always listened to love songs
I've always written about love

It's true that lovers offer bouquets
Yet they wither and die after days
But your love flowered my heart
You sow daisies of glee and tulips
Of tenderness and roses of passion
In the little heart of mine

They scent my heart
And enchant my soul
It's your unconditional love
That made me breathe the encens
Of true love and feel its essence

Only you quenched my heart and soul
From the ether cup of divine love
O my sweet tender soulmate
My precious gift from fate
