You Try And Save Me From Tomorrow Poem by Christal Carpenter

You Try And Save Me From Tomorrow

Rating: 5.0

~You try and save me from tonight
You try and save me from this horror
This horror we call life~

Perhaps when I was a small child
When I could not speak
Nor think for my self
You held me close
Tried to shelter me from pain and tears

But some where I think you dropped me
And it hurt to pick me back up
For now that I grew older heavier
I was hard for you to hold

So maybe you left me
Cold and lonely
And tried to shelter me from above
And maybe it worked for awhile

Until I grew legs
Then I would wander, explore
You didn’t like this
For you had to move
And I don’t think you liked changing

Not for me anyways
You want me to sit still
Even to grow smaller
So you could hold me again
Shelter me again
