You Want To Tell Them Poem by Charles Davis

You Want To Tell Them

You want to tell them that their bodies are dying, but you won't. That their bodies, not their spirits are infinite, moral. You want to tell them you've had patients who had close to death experiences, whos bodies you have hovered above as medical teams preformed CPR. You want to tell them that these people described freedom from their deiseased bodies as being in pure, divine love, finally free of suffering. You will never be the same, they tell you later. You want to tell them that everything they have will be sold. That they will have nothing. That they will live the rest of their lives in a home. But you can't.
