You Were Sleeping Poem by Ragy Sandid

You Were Sleeping

Rating: 4.0

While you were
Sleeping
I had a thought we were
Dreaming
A dream that we shared
Together
A dream that would last
Forever

In a parallel reality we knew
Each other
Revealing two people who called themselves
Lovers
A look in the eyes cleared our foggy
Path
And beyond all misty emotions
We went past

We knew the truth to be different
Yet similar
We knew the truth to be serious
Yet sillier
We knew what a touch meant
For us both
We knew that silence meant
No words lost

Yet we wake we must
Because
Reality takes us on this
Roller coaster
And we look as we bond bodies
Of strangers
Who fought everything in peace
And in danger

Then we came with a conclusion
Of sobriety
We choose to spend love with its
Rarity
On pride, on lust, on necessity and other
Trivia
Yet it's the reason we dream there's a better life
To live with
