Your Pride Poem by Ragy Sandid

Your Pride

When you see nothing but your pride
Know that something else inside you died
You worry and hurry to see how much you’re in control
Not knowing the thing you lost was from your soul

You knew the consequences yet you chose the worse
You know humans are the best items to purchase
Yet when it came to chose between object and human
You chose the inanimate simply because you can

You can run and chase the phantom and claim it trophy
Then make it a story and tell your friends what happened if
If you knew what really happened you wouldn’t be glad
Specially about you when you know the choice you really had

People will walk away from you hurt and undignified
You’ll claim they deserved it because of their pride
Will you think one minute if they had a choice to make their defence
Would you have heard what they had to say if it made sense

There is a memory now and the memory will stay
And whatever you did will dissolve in time but will not go away
Best thing you think now is to say “I did it! ”
We know and now it’s your barnyard and you’ll sink in it.
