There'll come a morning, soft and new,
when life feels kinder, somehow, to you.
You'll wake and find the weight has gone,
and feel within the pull of dawn.
Perhaps not now, perhaps not soon,
for healing follows its own moon.
It cannot hurry, race, or climb,
the wounded heart must have its time.
But little by little, day by day,
the ache you carry fades away.
The memories that once brought rain
will lose their power to cause you pain.
You'll laugh again without a care,
and feel your spirit everywhere.
You'll hear a song you used to know,
and sing the words from long ago.
You'll make new plans, you'll start to dream,
and life won't feel as hard as it seemed.
You'll notice sunsets, stars above,
and slowly open back to love.
Then one bright morning you will see
the face reflected back is me.
Not who you were before the fall,
but someone who survived it all.
A little softer, stronger too,
with wiser eyes and clearer view.
For every tear and sleepless night
was teaching you to seek the light.
Your scars will never make you less;
they speak of courage, tenderness.
They tell the story, brave and true,
of all the storms you travelled through.
So take your time. Be gentle now.
You needn't know the why or how.
Just trust that somewhere down the way,
your heart will find a brighter day.
There will be laughter, there'll be grace,
new dreams that time will not erase.
There will be love you don't yet see,
and moments where your soul feels free.
And then one day your heart will know
why some things had to hurt and go.
You'll look behind you, and you'll see,
you weren't returning but becoming free.
You thought you were lost along the way;
no, you were becoming someone more...
waiting to be reborn with love
with every wondrous, brand-new day.
