Your Cruel Beauty Poem by Oluwaseun Ogunbiyi

Your Cruel Beauty

Rating: 5.0

I would not let your beauty sway me back and forth
for i am not a mere lizard on a broken wall.
I've learnt from my mistake when it had me once;
my leg hit a stone and i had to fall.
Although how gracious it is to behold your sight
as men worship your stride along those paths
But does it worth it afterall?
The bruise i bore over starring at you,
hurts so bad now round as a ball.
So when next you tread those familiar paths,
hoping to daze me with your grace,
My gaze be not fixed on you so bad;
I'd dash my feet against a stone.
I will not go home having to moan.
