Your Horse Whisperer Poem by Timmy Tubbs

Your Horse Whisperer

Your Horse Whisperer

Conscious nights chewing my lip
Only trying to forget
You wrapped a spider web in my head
And it catches every green blade of grass that held us
So I close my eyes and gasp for breath
I imagine your head and make my way to your toes
I count every mole and pore on your skin
Never forgetting the secret spots that made you grin

So blinded by the truth, I committed the ultimate sin
Don’t mix love and training
Soon, she will wake and wonder where she is
Your horse whisperer has done his job
You are broken in
And now it’s time for you to live
You’re still a frog and I
I was never a prince
So sorry for all of this
