Your Letters Poem by florist stamp

Your Letters

Rating: 4.0

YOURLETTERS
Your passionate letters are scattered across my room
Scores of them that I have read and reread a thousand times.
The phrases "I love you", "Genuine love", and ‘never ending love"
Turn into Frankensteins of the night devouring my soul and my peace.
Those few words which meant a whole world to me, mock me now
As you now gather yourself in the comfort of another and
I realize in quick wisdom that your love for me was only an illusion
When your love evaporated into thin air like a fistful of mist.
Love is not the bidding of two souls,
It is surrendering two souls to one another,
I know that time will help to regain myself
As I try to distance from the brief fragrance of your love,
Please leave no scars that I cannot erase.
