Your Soul Poem by Day Break

Your Soul

Rating: 5.0

The man looked around consciously
“What will I ever do?
Alone will I die?
No! But with who? ”

He went to Appearance
“I have lavished you with expensive clothing, and jewelry.
Sickness is a thief and will steal my life soon. To the Afterworld will you go with me”
The answer was:
“I can’t do so. I have to say
When you die, I will wither away.”

He ran to the triplets: Wealth, Possessions, and Status
“I have showed you off to the world and made sure you were in the spotlight.
Will you go with me through death and this blight? ”
They replied:
“No way! Why should we bother?
When you die we will go to others.”

The man then went to his best comrades: Family and Friends
“When I needed help you would aid, I needed something you gave.
Will you go with me to beyond the grave? ”
Answer:
“We will go to your funeral and our grieving will be long and slow
But any farther than your grave we can’t go.”

“Alas, alone will I die
To life I will have to say good-bye.”
Out from the darkness crept his secret admirer: his Soul
She said:
“You have ignored me and never known the significance I am to you.
You believed the others held your life together but I was the glue.
I’m the only one that will follow you wherever you will go.
Through sickness and death, and through peace and serenity.
I will always continue with you throughout Eternity.”
