Your World, This World Poem by Lucy Azubuike

Your World, This World

Rating: 3.5

A world where;
What you need to do, hunt you.

Where;
Your 'yes' is 'no' to others.

Where;
Your mirror lies to you

Where;
Your plate of food worries you

Where;
You gauge your laughter for fear of deepening your ridges.

Where;
You pray for old age yet pray to grow younger

Where;
Looking over fashion magazine makes you question God.

Where;
Where those you call models turns out to be infidels.

Where;
You are scared to walk because there are many toes on your path.

Where;
Wars are sustained because someone thinks it is written in his 'holy' book.

Where;
Millions of innocent dies because somebody is angry.

Where;
You have to die when you don't wish to.

Where;
You have to live when you don't choose to.

Where;
Drugs and condolence visits are the precious gifts you give to your aged parents.

Where;
Land abounds yet people kill each other for a portion.

Where;
Where water is greater than land yet, one is thirsty.
