Appointment with A Friend
- by Zhao Shixiu (1170~1219)
- Translated by Frank C Yue
In Summer rain comes a-knocking at homes here and there;
In the green grass and ponds croaking frogs are everywhere.
Past mid-night, my friend who says he would come is not here;
I rap on the chess pieces in leisure,
And knock off the lamp's burnt wick with pleasure.

《約客》 趙師秀
黃梅時節家家雨,
青草池塘處處蛙。
有約不來過夜半,
閑敲棋子落燈花。
