Rachel Shaw Poems

They coloured me pink, and played with my hair
Took me to every corner of the world, but do they care?
To the wicked ways of the green fairy, and wasn't she exquisite?
Through hazy eyes, I'll admit it
...

Woman, It's sneaking beauty.
Stop your fruitless fight.
your amongst the rows of dreary faces
that only light up when the day meets night.
...

How sweet it is to watch you sleep
Through your window, catch a peep
I'll find a way to make this worth my while.
...

Rent a quiet room to sleep in.
Here after the storm
A shadow, and a memory
A Tremor In My Hand

Colour Me Pink

They coloured me pink, and played with my hair
Took me to every corner of the world, but do they care?
To the wicked ways of the green fairy, and wasn't she exquisite?
Through hazy eyes, I'll admit it
Do I even care?

So baby, what's the use now?
Of sleeping through our dreams
So baby, don't get used to this nothingness
because nothing is ever as it seems

And I can't use excuses no more.
I just don't love you anymore
I won't use excuses no more.

So here we all are now, perched in the trees
we're dotting our i's and crossing our t's
'cause we're just one happy, dysfunctional family
that I just can't leave..no, no, no.

So baby, what's the use now?
Of sleeping through our dreams
So baby, don't get used to this nothingness
because nothing is ever as it seems

And I can't use excuses no more.
I just don't love you anymore
I won't use excuses no more.
