Romesh De Silva Poems

I find myself trapped in an unlocked cage
Solitary confinement, I’m completely deranged
People walk by as the hours dwindle past, not noticing anything, I’m screaming
Untouched by starry-eyed beings’ dreaming
...

Each breath I consume, fills my lungs with happiness
Like a drop of rain finding its puddle
Humans are quick to give up, due to inherited emotional laziness
We all need someone to hold and cuddles
...

My heart, body and soul are as happy as in the past
Smiles, laughs and good times never ending
A lonely tear trickles down my left cheek slow but fast
It connects with my smile like water to fire
...

Talk to your echo, recreate puzzles abnormally unjust
Wrapped in emotional air, clouds frowning, atmosphere whispering smiles
Reflecting your reflection
Another lonely day without my friends
...

I Sit and peer through the window
Trapped behind tainted glass
Watching the world dance, dance with class
Shapes forming pictures in the dark
...

6.

I awoke to the sound of me sleeping
It’s a quarter past three in the morning
The lights and my eyes are simultaneously blinking
Someones watching my furious slow motion yawning
...

The world is full of surprises
Neverland’s sands never the same, its destination I can't find it
My eyes wander through space
Earth in this universe, just a taste
...

8.

I find it interesting, I find it amusing
Everything around me, passing
Nothing lasts, but nothing is lost
Earth moving in circular motion past me
...

There is a precise moment in the continuous world of time, where it seems to be so impossible for truth to be true, and a smile to be painted as a happy picture
Fictitious and fictional memories analysed with virgin eyes
Conclusive dreams redirected, rendered, and landscaped
The man next door withered and old, suddenly smiles
...

Shadows lurking, avoiding the sun’s violent, uncontrollable smirking
My mouth whispers loudly
Shapes in the distance made from skies, cloudy
Well-read tales of misfortune
...

11.

Our silhouette painted on canvas
Watercolour; blending like tears of sadness
Flick of the brush, bristles part
Hand flows from left to right, finish to start
...

Thinking of ways to be normal
Capturing the moment in which we smile
Talking with photos, well-pronounced formal
Cloudy vision, it’s raining sooner than now
...

Face to face, a test
Language of love, one breath
Peel open with feeling
Sex with souls, pain shared, stealing
...

The water shimmers under weathered skies
My own thoughts are my demise
My eyes are half closed, lashes glisten back to front, structurally poised
Feet to one side, muscles twitching
...

15.

Past Opportunities I have missed
Life and death have made up, they have kissed, Flip a coin, heads or tails? Backward motion, my mood has set sail
State of mind unworthy to dream
The yellow brick road we are to follow, fades to black it would seem
...

You seem to be so oblivious
The simplicity of the chase continuous
'The need for can't have'
To have the need, love gone bad
...

Darkness, Bang! Click
“Carpe diem”, I whisper
2: 05am
My eyes open, smile again
...

I'm doing 97 on the freeway
Top down, hair dancing
Radio picking up signals, sounds from the airway
The asphalt and my 59 romancing
...

Midnight’s night, black as truth
Skies pale blue, two of a kind, they suit
Pen to paper, don’t dot the ‘i’
Left with a vertical line
...

20.

Pools of romance continually dry
Words of love lack truth, no surprise
The letter you wrote to me, your one and only
Signed, no hugs, no kisses
...

The Best Poem Of Romesh De Silva

Trapped

I find myself trapped in an unlocked cage
Solitary confinement, I’m completely deranged
People walk by as the hours dwindle past, not noticing anything, I’m screaming
Untouched by starry-eyed beings’ dreaming
Foreseeing the way out, feeling my way around
Me and happiness made a contract verbally without sound
Body surfacing from the darkness inside
Awake before I dream asleep
Sunshine watching the retreating tide
The view beautiful from my own paradise, my beach, my life.
