Today I found a friend
Who knew everything I felt
She knew my every weakness
And the problems I have dealt.
...
Pain became my friend today
She showed me how to hide
She’d been watching from a distance
Every tear I cried
...
Have you ever tried to cry
But there's no tears left to shed
Have you ever seen the face of misery
Or looked into the eyes of dread
...
All alone at the end of the day
The time, just a little past ten
Evening has come for a short stay
It’s time for her sorrow again
...
The poems on my page were written by a lonely 14 year old girl, who felt misunderstood by the rest of the world. The best writing comes out when you find yourself broken. Your heart is ripped open and all the feelings spill out into a beautiful mess on paper. ~Shannen Wrass)
The Perfect Friend ©
Today I found a friend
Who knew everything I felt
She knew my every weakness
And the problems I have dealt.
She understood my wonders
And listened to my dreams,
She listened to how I felt about life and love
And knew what it all means.
Not once did she interrupt me
Or tell me I was wrong
She understood what I was going through
And promised she'd stay long.
I reached out to this friend,
To show her that I care
To pull her close and let her know
How much I need her there.
I went to hold her hand
To pull her a bit nearer
And I realized this perfect friend I found
Was nothing but a mirror
