there is happiness inside me but mostly I feel blue
It's summer outside but winter in my heart
my art has nearly left me it's distant and drawn apart

I'd like to atone for what I did I never meant you harm
you left for higher climbs of that I can be sure
But I implore you to remember me not as some old bore

drink of the poison chalice
eat the curates egg
lose your bloody mind then go straight to bed
pull all your hairs out scream then shout some more

Walk with me oh my Lord though I have no fight and I fear what people say
be at my side oh Lord even though the psychiatrist asked me if I'm gay
diagnosis threaten me and tribunals come to nought
but then I hear your voice and the psychiatrist tells me what!

I am a believer
a high achiever
no end to my talents
I cannot complain
...

There is a voice in my head telling me you ought to be dead
your better off dead, your better off dead
you can do it just slip some pills your worries will be over and done failing that you can try yourself hung
Its a dream, more a hope that you will be better off on the other side

betwixt the darkness and the light
surrender or fight
do your duty and end your plight
strangers in a foreign land
